IMPROVING QUALITY and EXPANDING PRODUCT OPTIONS
The "re-invention" of Austinville Limestone is now complete - a major rebuild of our limestone pelletizing system. This includes installation of two Raymond roller mills, a fluidized-bed dryer, a new warehouse building, a robotic palletizer, and a mixing system to produce LimeLite® - our enhanced pelletized limestone product with Gluconic acid.
GROWTH and EXPANDED COVERAGE
Recent growth has expanded the geographic areas we serve to include the South Central, Midwest, and Northeast markets. This growth has also necessitated 24 hour operations at our VA manufacturing facility. A second shipping point in Chatsworth GA is now active to help serve Southeastern markets with high-quality limestone products.
PROTECTING and RESTORING the ENVIRONMENT
Several years ago, we completed reclamation of a 44 acre portion of our property along the New River, which has become part of the New River Trail State Park. This property has been transformed from a contaminated ex-industrial site into a beautiful meadow bordering the New River Trail. We take great pride in the transformation of an enviromental liability into a scenic and historic showplace for Virginia Park vsitors to enjoy.
A similar reclamation has recently been completed on a neighbor's property, where we removed limestone for agricultural use, and then restored a stream channel known as Buddle Branch.
Over a decade ago, we donated to the Virginia Outdoors Foundation a Conservation Easement, protecting 182 acres of our land along the New River Trail. This will protect this land permanently from development, preserving its scenic beauty and wildlife for trail users and local residents to enjoy.
